Many common news websites on the internet are actually conservative or right-wing websites. What about examiner.com?
Here’s what Wikipedia says about examiner.com:
“When (owner) Anschutz started the Examiner in its daily newspaper format, he envisioned creating a conservative competitor to The Washington Post.”
As if the Post isn’t already conservative enough.
Wikipedia states further that “According to Politico, ‘When it came to the editorial page, Anschutz’s instructions were explicit — he ‘wanted nothing but conservative columns and conservative op-ed writers,’ said one former employee.'”
“The unlucky readers are bombarded with wingnut news articles and an editorial section which runs the full spectrum from moderate-right to far-right.”
The Daily Kos stated:
“Many people in the blogosphere have been propagating a false story about how the OWS evictions were coordinated by the FBI and Homeland Security. This rumor is based on a story on a right wing website called examiner.com. This website and its owner are nothing but right wing shills.”
The Huffington Post (Terry Krepel):
“The Examiner has had a conservative skew from its inception, as exemplified by its early hiring of Bill Sammon, a former Washington Times staffer who penned several books laudatory of George W. Bush and his presidency even while serving as a White House correspondent. Sammon moved last year to Fox News, but he left no ideological vacuum behind.”
