IOWA CITY, Iowa – The sales of public season tickets to 2015 Iowa Hawkeye football games are down severely compared to last year.
However, University of Iowa Athletic Department says the program’s overall goal of another year-over-year attendance increase and Top 25 ranking are still within reach.
As of June 19, the UI Athletics Ticket Office sold 32,656 season tickets to the general public, which includes tickets sold in the premium seating areas inside Kinnick Stadium. That total does not include the majority of season tickets that have yet to be purchased by more than 650 new general public season ticket holders, according to a University of Iowa press release.
The number of tickets sold thus far is 7,137 fewer than the final 2014 total. Even if Iowa is able to hit their eventual target numbers, it would likely be the biggest drop in public season ticket sales…
