Oprah Winfrey will host a show in Perth, Australia in December called An Evening With Oprah.
Watoday.com writes that her fans should brace themselves – their tickets could reach an eye-watering $2548.
The cheapest ticket will be $104.
The ‘O’ VIP Photo + Soundcheck Experience is a “thrilling opportunity to see Oprah from amazing seats in rows 4-10 from the stage!” according to the ticketing website.
Watoday.com writes that the package includes a personal photo-op with Oprah (photos taken in groups based on the number of tickets in each transaction, the website warns).
It also includes a 15-minute group Q&A session with Oprah during her pre-show sound check (questions may be selected at random and not all questions are guaranteed to be answered), an on-site photographer “to capture all of the priceless moments” and a 90-minute pre-show cocktail party with “a delicate assortment of complimentary canapés, fine wines, and premium beers” – but without Oprah.
Those who shell out for the package will also get bells and whistles including priority check-in, red carpet and early access to a merchandise stand prior to the general public, and a merchandise collection pack – an autographed publicity photo, gift set, bag, program, VIP laminate and matching lanyard.
As well as the unusual idea of selling tickets to the sound check of a spoken-word show, organizers have provided numerous other fan packages with similar collections of merchandise and show-day perks ranging from $611 to $815.
