Chris Christie was in Manchester, New Hampshire for a presidential forum on Monday, and he attended an event at a store before leaving the state Tuesday.
Christie has invested much in New Hampshire, where he hopes his record as a Republican governor in a Democratic state will appeal to independent-minded voters. He has visited the state at least 17 times since 2013, according to Democracy in Action, the most of any candidate in the GOP field, writes Politico.
While at the store, Christie discussed birth control.
According to Wonkette:
“’I’m a Catholic but I’ve used birth control, and not just the rhythm method,’ the presidential candidate said in the town hall event.”
“’My church has a teaching against birth control. Does that make me an awful Catholic? Because I believe and practiced that function during part of my life? I don’t think so,’ he said.”
