Who is Bernard McGuirk?
McGuirk was fired from the Imus in the Morning show in April of 2007 over on-air comments he made on the Rutgers University girls’ basketball team. According to Wikipedia, McGuirk was hired back on at WABC in New York with Imus on December 3, 2007. The program is on stations owned by or affiliated with the ABC Radio Network. The Fox Business Network simulcasts the program.
Recently, McGuirk appeared on the Fox News channel’s talk show “Outnumbered.” Here’s a sampling of some of what he said:
First, he dug into left-wing presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton: “What does it say that you have a disheveled, old, nutcake socialist like Bernie Sanders,” McGuirk began, “who’s actually posing a threat to her and where are the cries that Bernie Sanders – and maybe even Joe Biden and Martin O’Malley, ‘a bunch of misogynists.’ She’s on the precipice of breaking the ultimate glass ceiling and these old, white men won’t let her do it.”
McGuirk’s co-host Andrea Tantaros speculated that the White House is “maneuvering behind the scenes with either Joe Biden or maybe Elizabeth Warren at this point.”
That prompted some more of McGuirk’s “humor:” “Liz Warren would be a gift from God for the Republicans,” he sneered. “She probably has posters of Mumia Abu-Jamal in her bedroom.”
Abu-Jamal is the jailed former Black Panther convicted (many feel wrongly) of murdering a Philadelphia police officer.
“Nobody mentioned any actual connection between Senator Warren, who represents the state of Massachusetts, and Abu-Jamal,” writes Crooks and Liars.
