CNN writes that the day before Wednesday night’s Republican debate, Donald Trump appeared before a huge crowd for a campaign rally aboard the decommissioned battleship, USS Iowa.
The event was sponsored by a group called Veterans for a Strong America, which is a PAC, or political action committee. A PAC is supposed to be tax exempt.
However, the founder of Veterans for a Strong America – Joel Arends – apparently forgot to tell the Trump campaign the group’s tax exempt status was revoked by the IRS last May.
Rachel Maddow of MSNBC points out that this “veterans group” apparently consists of a single person – Joel Arends.
