Florida IRS Bomb Threat

A South Florida man who told the FBI his name is “Squirrel” is charged with threatening to blow up the Internal Revenue Service building in Miami.

Prosecutors say 53-year-old Morris Whitehead faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Whitehead has been jailed since his arrest last week and court records did not list an attorney for him, states CBS Miami.

Court papers show someone called the FBI Monday to say the IRS building would “go up in smoke” in two hours. Agents traced the cellphone call to a woman who said she loaned it to a man she knew as “Rabbit.”

Agents quickly found the man, who said he actually called himself “Squirrel.” The man – Whitehead – allegedly told investigators he made the IRS bomb threat call.

Racist Police Texts

TYT Network

Three cops in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida have been fired and a fourth, Alex Alvarez, has been suspended in an investigation of that police department for racism.

They may have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for five-month-long internal affairs investigations and a bad breakup between an officer and his fiance.

The investigation found prolonged misconduct in the department and it is possible there could be even more terminations as more racism becomes apparent.

“But they might never have been detected, nor run off, if not for a bad breakup that led to one officer’s former fiance coming forward with damning information,” according to Florida’s Sun-Sentinel newspaper.

Footage Of Black Hawk Helicopter Wreckage In Florida

AP

Seven Marines and four soldiers are presumed dead after a helicopter crashed off a Florida Beach early Wednesday morning, on March 11th, states AP.   A thick fog had reduced visibility in the area when the helicopter was on a training mission.

According to Stars and Stripes publication, human remains have washed ashore along the Florida coastline after the helicopter vanished during a training mission Tuesday night, according to the military.

Local law enforcement, the Coast Guard and military members from Eglin Air Force base outside Pensacola, where the flight originated, have been searching for debris since the helicopter was reported missing, said Sara Vidoni, an Air Force spokeswoman at the base.

“Fog impeded the search mission this morning, but it is beginning to dissipate,” she said, adding that the search efforts had been limited to boats and teams walking the shore because of the fog.

The Marines were from the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, known as MARSOC, said Capt. Barry Morris, a MARSOC spokesman at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. According to Stars and Stripes, the soldiers were from a Hammond, La.-based National Guard unit, The Associated Press reported.

CNN states, “The helicopter was first reported missing at about 8:30 p.m. (9:30 p.m. ET) Tuesday. Hours later, searchers found debris around Okaloosa Island near Eglin Air Force Base, base spokesman Andy Bourland said.”

Odd: Woman Arrested For Supposedly Damaging Satanic Holiday Display

Satanic Temple supporters have restored their holiday display at the Florida state capitol, a day after it was supposedly vandalized.

The display, which depicted an angel suspended over a pit of flames with the message, “Happy Holidays from the Satanic Temple,” was supposedly knocked to the ground by Susan Hemeryck, who told the AP that she showed up to the capitol in a T-shirt that read “Catholic Warrior” to “take a stand against Satan” and remove the display.

Surveillance footage shows that she removed the display and attempted to leave with it. Police seem to catch her and bring back the display, when they somehow drop it. The woman was arrested.
