“One America News Network (abbreviated as OAN, commonly referred to as One America News) is an American cable news television channel that is owned by the Herring Networks, Inc. The network is headquartered in San Diego, California, and operates a news bureau in Washington, D.C. Originally envisioned as a conservative news network, OAN’s stated focus is delivering a credible source of national and international news 24/7. OAN also features political analysis programming and political talk shows, along with network special documentary-style reports; its news coverage attempts to maintain objectivity while its political shows illustrate a stronger conservative lean.
“The channel was launched on July 4, 2013.”
Recently, an anchor on One America News gave a lengthy editorial on the Middle East and ISIS. TYT Network discusses it.
Glenn Beck posted a message on Facebook about the Iran deal and warned of dire consequences, including “a Holocaust, perhaps bigger than the last.” Beck is currently on medical paid medical leave from his radio show.
Beck wrote how people “mocked him” for warning about the “rise of the caliphate,” but now he’s more convinced that the U.S. has done a deal with a nation that believes in the “end times,” writes MediaITE.
Keep in mind that Sunni ISIS and Shia Muslim Iran are mortal enemies in the Middle East. They are not on the same side of the war. Beck:
“For years I have warned the world against turning a blind eye to those who run Iran. They are beyond radical Islamists. They, like ISIS are psychotic Islamists.
“When I predicted the rise of the caliphate, those who had not done their homework on what was really happening in the Middle East spent their time mocking me. Once again, I warn the American people and the people of the world again. This particular strain of Islamists, like ISIS, believe they can “hasten the return of the promised one”, and usher in the literal end times.
“No one in their right mind would sign treaties with a Christian country that believed these things. Remember, it does NOT require you to believe it, just that you fully understand that THEY believe it.
“What this president has done will be remembered as something far worse than Neville Chamberlain. It will only be a matter of time before millions cry out his name in despair and contempt. A Holocaust, perhaps bigger than the last, where millions of Christians and even Muslims who are not Muslim enough will die at the hands of the Islamic State.
“Anyone who believes #lovewins must let their voice be heard. This is a nation that denies homosexuality even exists in their country and they whip or kill any that they find. This is a country that is holding Americans in prison now for political or faith crimes. This is a nation that kills those who leave Islam and stone women.
“This is a sad day for the right of conscience and the freedom and safety of not only us but the entire world. It is a tragic day for our ally Israel.
“#neveragainisnow. It is time for good, decent and God fearing Americans stand and be counted. This deal yet again proves that our governments are not the solution to our problems. For me, my family and my team we will serve the truth and against injustice no matter the price. We will serve The Lord.
Update: The Times of Israel now puts the number at “over 70” people dead.
A wave of attacks on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt left at least 38 dead and dozens more injured this morning, writes Gawker. The attacks were at Egyptian army checkpoints.
The New York Times puts the number of dead at 64 Egyptian troops.
Also over the weekend, the Egyptian state prosecutor Hisham Barakat was killed at point blank range with a roadside bomb tied to an ISIS group. The name of the ISIS group is the Sinai Province, writes Gawker.
Yesterday, President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi publicly promised to step up efforts against the group, apparently prompting a “swift response.”
“An Islamic State affiliate in Egypt claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s attacks, saying its fighters targeted a total of 15 army and police positions and staged three suicide bombings, two of which targeted checkpoints and one that hit an officers’ club in the nearby city of el-Arish.
“The authenticity of the claim could not be immediately verified but it was posted on a Facebook page associated with the group.
“Except for the attack at the officers’ club, the rest took place in the town of Sheikh Zuweid and targeted at least six military checkpoints, the officials said. The militants also took soldiers captive and seized weapons and several armored vehicles, they added, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.”
The Washington Post once discussed Bill O’Reilly’s faith with him. He appeared to be Catholic. Below is an excerpt.
“You grew up Catholic. How big of a role did faith play in your home?
“I lived in a traditional Irish Catholic home that didn’t deviate very much from what had happened in the past 150 years. We went to church on Sunday, went out to breakfast afterward. There were rituals. My mother wanted me to be an altar boy, so I was. I can compare it to a very working-class, predictable, faith-based situation. It was just: Here are the rules. Here’s what we do. There wasn’t a lot of why in it.
“Did you believe in God?
“Yes, I bought into the orthodoxy. When you’re a little kid and your parents believe and then the school teaches you, it’s an inculcation. I didn’t challenge it.
“And what about Jesus? Did you believe Jesus was the Son of God?
“Oh, yes. Sure. Yes, back then in the late ’50s, early ’60s when I was in Catholic school, everybody believed it.
According to hollowverse.com, “O’Reilly grew up going to Catholic schools and is still Catholic today.” Hollowverse.com cites the “Bill O’Reilly Biography.”
On the website http://www.creators.com, O’Reilly writes, “Over the years, I have occasionally written about being a practicing Roman Catholic, a fact that sometimes leads to incredulous statements like ‘You go to church?’ Somehow, I don’t believe the question is a compliment.” He also writes, “A number of Catholics have left the church because of the priestly sins, but not me.”
Several sites show that he is Catholic. As a conservative, he also denies man-made climate change. So, the question is, will the pope’s encyclical on climate change affect Bill O’Reilly?
On Friday at a hotel in Tunisia (North Africa), a gunman dressed as a tourist opened fire, killing 38 people, including British, German and Belgian visitors. Reports say he had hidden a gun in his umbrella.
A brief look at the headlines shows that 1 German, 3 Irish, and “at least 30” Britons were killed.
“In Times Square, with government officials, guests and tourists looking on, an industrial rock crusher pulverized a ton of confiscated ivory,” writes the Wall Street Journal on June 23rd.
“Ivory crushes,” what the rallies like the one last week are called, are meant to raise the public’s awareness about the illegal ivory trade.
“They are done to get people to stop buying ivory and to end the killing of the tens of thousands of elephants and rhinos that are being driven toward extinction,” writes the Wall Street Journal.
Among those watching Friday were Beverly and Dereck Joubert, who are filmmakers and wildlife conservationists who have a special distinction: last April, from Botswana, they spearheaded the largest rhino airlift to date.
The couple flew the first 10 of 100 rhinos from South Africa, where poaching is soaring, to neighboring Botswana, where elephants—and now rhinos—are as safe as anywhere in Africa.
They said that “The policy in Botswana is shoot to kill,” referring to killing the poachers. “They take this very seriously, from the president and the minister of the environment, wildlife and tourism on down.”
Because of that policy, according to Mr. Joubert, Botswana holds a third of all of Africa’s elephants. An average of 34,000 elephants are killed every year to support the ivory trade, U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell told the crowd at the rally, writes the Wall Street Journal.
On June 28, 1919, the Allied leaders signed the Treaty of Versailles, which officially ended World War I, writes Business Insider.
With hardly any German involvement, the principal architects of the treaty – Britain’s David Lloyd George, Italy’s Vittorio Orlando, France’s Georges Clemenceau of France, and America’s Woodrow Wilson – adjusted Germany’s borders and demanded steep war reparations.
Germany finally paid off its World War I debt in 2010, according to Business Insider and the German magazine Der Spiegel.
That treaty, known as the “unhappy compromise,” had harsh terms laid out in 15 parts and 440 articles.
Those harsh terms reportedly gave rise to more German nationalism, which in turn gave Nazi leader Adolf Hitler a political platform, according to Business Insider.
An unmanned rocket by Elon Musk’s SpaceX on a resupply mission to the International Space Station exploded Sunday just minutes after launch, writes CNN.
A previous rocket from Orbital Sciences also exploded after takeoff, and a Russian transport rocket as well. This makes it the third supply rocket in a row to blow up after takeoff, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
SpaceX said that an “anomaly” had caused the spaceship, named Dragon, to fail and was investigating. NASA is set to hold a press conference later Sunday.
“It is not clear what happened,” NASA said initially. “The vehicle has broken up.”
SpaceX — which is headed by Musk — has made seven trips to the ISS under a contract the company has with NASA. It is the first company to complete a return trip to the space station, a feat previously achieved by only governments.
The failed cargo flight was carrying more than 2 tons of supplies, including 1,500 pounds of food and provisions for the crew aboard the space station.
Mark Polansky, a former NASA astronaut, tweeted that the failure will not immediately affect those aboard. “ISS priority is crew safety,” he wrote. “Though tragic, @SpaceX cargo failure doesn’t pose immediate impact to that.”
Three space station astronauts, two Russians and NASA’s Scott Kelly, were awaiting the arrival of SpaceX’s shipment, which was meant to arrive on Tuesday.
