The internet was a-twitter with racially-charged tweets on Oscar night.

The response by conservative cultural and political writers to the subject of race and gender at the 87th Academy Award ceremony was less than ideal, according to Raw Story.

Breitbart Hollywood’s Editor-at-Large John Nolte, for example, aimed to prove that liberals are the real racists by tracking every time anyone applauded anything related to the film Selma.

According to the WSJ, Neil Patrick Harris took a break from Oscar-hosting prep Wednesday to make an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where he recalled the worst moment in his awards-show-emcee career to date.

In 2009, just before Harris took the stage for his first-ever gig hosting the Tony Awards, Poison frontman Bret Michaels smacked his head on a descending set piece as he wrapped up his opening-number performance with the Broadway cast of “Rock of Ages.”

Several documentaries have been nominated for the 87th Academy Awards, including “The Salt of the Earth,” directed by Juliana Ribeiro Salgado and Wim Wenders,
