Did Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly Have A Domestic Dispute With His Ex-Wife?

AJ+

Gawker reports that it has secured partial transcripts from the custody trial of Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly in regards to the dispute with his ex-wife, Maureen McPhilmy.

The documents, which record testimony given last year, confirm that the ex-couple’s teenage daughter told a court-appointed forensic examiner that she witnessed O’Reilly “choking her mom” as he “dragged her down some stairs” by the neck.

The same transcripts also reveal that O’Reilly told his daughter that her mother is an “adulterer”; that he struggles to control his rage around his family; and that his daughter regards him as an absentee father.

News magazine AJ+ looks at it.

SNL’s Kenan Thompson Reportedly Calls Bill Cosby A ‘Monster’ Regarding Sexual Assault Allegations

Kenan Thompson SNL

“Saturday Night Live” actor/comedian Kenan Thompson stopped by the University of Pittsburgh on Monday night to look back on his career and make some jokes, according to The Huffington Post.

Thompson allegedly also took a few moments from his appearance to talk about Bill Cosby.

During his stand-up set, Thompson reportedly called Cosby a “monster” in regards to the recent sexual assault allegations against Cosby, according to the University’s student newspaper, The Pitt News.

The paper says Thompson kept the rest of his comments on Cosby light with his “SNL” impression.

Reddit user  “Definitely_Ambiguous” posted in the “Live From New York” subreddit section Monday night that Thompson shared stories about his time with Cosby on the set of the 2004 film Fat Albert.  Here’s what Thompson allegedly said, according to the Redditor:

So like, he started by talking about actually not getting the role of Fat Albert, but it then went into development hell for two years. After (or during, I can’t remember) his first season of SNL, he got the gig. He then talked about an odd remark Cosby made to him while filming, something like, “So Cosby pulled me aside and said that after the movie comes out, it’ll be so hard to keep the women off you, you’ll need two dicks.” And then he brought, like, his mom to see Cosby and he was creepy and bounced her on his lap and said something about horse riding like a kiddie..

Kenan got pretty real and just talked about what it feels like to have someone go from so commonly liked to being a piece of shit. He, like so many others, noticed kind of odd behavior awhile ago and just never put it all together. He said he wished someone had a recording or something so the guy can go to jail.

Trial To Look At The Role Of Online Bullying In Suicide Death

A 15-year-old California girl hanged herself a week after three classmates photographed themselves sexually assaulting her at a 2012 party.  She reportedly was petrified the boys would circulate the photos online and believed gossip about her was spreading widely, according to philly.com.

And perhaps it was spreading widely.

Audrie Pott’s story has captivated those concerned with teen bullying, which appears to be on the rise with the help of smartphones and social media.

A wrongful death trial this month in San Jose will determine whether bullying played a role in the girl’s suicide.  What do you think?

Lawyers are scheduled to argue Wednesday over what evidence the jury will hear, while opening statements are expected to start next week.

The three boys, now high school seniors, and other teens are expected to deliver uncomfortable and emotional testimony about the party where Audrie was sexually assaulted after passing out drunk, as well as about other events leading up to her death.

Authorities In India Prevent Rape Documentary From Being Shown

Authorities in India stopped the domestic broadcast of a British documentary about the gang rape of a young woman in Delhii, according to The Guardian.

The British director of the hard-hitting documentary has appealed to the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, to intervene.

Leslee Udwin, whose documentary India’s Daughter, is scheduled to be broadcast internationally on Sunday, made an emotional plea to Modi “to deal with this unceremonious silencing of the film” in India.

The movie is based on the brutal rape of 23-year-old physiotherapy student Jyoti Singh from December 2012.   Udwin’s documentary includes interviews Mukesh Singh, one of the men convicted for the crime, who is now in prison in Delhi and waiting for the supreme court to hear his appeal against the death sentence.

In the film, Singh suggests his victim would not have been killed if she had not fought back against her attackers and appears to blame her for not behaving like “a decent girl”.

“You can’t clap with one hand,” said Mr. Singh, who was convicted of rape and murder, though he denied taking part in the assault. “It takes two hands. A decent girl won’t roam around at 9 o’clock at night. A girl is far more responsible for rape than a boy. Boy and girl are not equal. Housework and housekeeping is for girls, not roaming in discos and bars at night doing wrong things, wearing wrong clothes. About 20 percent of girls are good.”

Those and other comments by Singh were released as part of a publicity campaign for the film, according to The New York Times.  They were met with outrage in India, partly because the filmmaker, Leslee Udwin, had been permitted to interview the defendant in jail.

After complaints by the home minister, an Indian court issued a restraining order, stating that Mr. Singh’s interview created “an atmosphere of fear and tension with the possibility of public outcry and law and order situation.”  The order said the film violated four Indian statutes, including one against “intent to cause alarm in the public” and another banning acts “intended to outrage the modesty of a woman.”

The filmmaker said the order amounted to a ban.

Heroic Boy, 14, Stops Runaway School Bus After Classmate Hit Driver And Knocked Her Unconscious

Sneak attack: A 26-year-old woman was driving a school bus filled with a half-dozen students from an alternative school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, when one of them came up behind her and punched her in the head

A 14-year-old Louisiana boy is being hailed as a hero for stopping an out-of-control school bus filled with high school students after a classmate knocked the driver unconscious, according to the Daily Mail.

The 15-year-old suspect has been charged with assault for attacking the 26-year-old driver in Baton Rouge Thursday as she was dropping off about a half-dozen students from Christa McAuliffe Superintendent’s Academy.  The academy is an alternative school for teens with disciplinary problems.

Police and school officials say the female driver had stopped the bus at around 3pm at Linden Street to exchange words with the disruptive student.

According to the driver, when she turned away to face the road, the 15-year-old walked up behind her and punched the woman several times in the head until she passed out.

She then lost consciousness, her hands and feet slipped from the wheel and the brakes, and the bus started moving again.

That is when Tay’veon Slaughter, 14, jumped into action.

The quick-thinking eighth-grader slammed his foot on the breaks to stop the bus from crashing and called 911.

‘I knew I had to stop the bus because, you know, she’s not responding,’ he told the station WAFB, referring to the driver. ‘The bus was speeding up. So I knew if we get into a wreck, all of us would have been hurt.’

The 15-year-old suspect in the attack fled the bus before police responded to the scene.  Later that day, the teenager’s mother turned him in to police. The suspect was arrested on charges of battery of a bus operator, aggravated obstruction of a roadway and second-degree battery.

School officials say the 15-year-old has been suspended pending a disciplinary hearing and could face expulsion.

When the driver of the bus woke up, she did know she had been attacked and that her face was swollen.

The injured driver was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injures. She has since been released to continue her recovery at home.

Slaughter said that before the attack on the driver, the 15-year-old was throwing things out the widow and spitting at passing cars. The boy reportedly became upset when the driver asked him to stop and sit down.

When the 26-year-old woman regained consciousness, Slaughter said she did not know she had been punched.

‘She didn’t know that her face was swollen,’ the boy recalled to the New Orleans Advocate.

Averil Sanders, principal of Christa McAuliffe Superintendent’s Academy, said he was proud of Tay’veon for stepping up to the plate in an emergency situation.

Unregistered Taxi Driver Sexually Assaulted Woman And Demanded £50 Fare To Take Her Home

Mohamed Iqbal was jailed at Guildford Crown Court (Picture: PA Real Life Features)

A university student is warning others against using unregistered taxis in England after she fell victim to a predatory cab driver who sexually assaulted her.

Lily Wright, 22, from Birmingham has waived her right to anonymity to share her terrifying experience and to urge others not to take unlicensed cabs.

Lily and her friend Jamielee Smalldon, 21, had flagged down a taxi, driven by Mohammed Iqbal – a father of three – following a night out in Birmingham.

After dropping Jamielee at her house, Iqbal drove Lily to a secluded wooded area and sexually assaulted her, according to the U.K Daily Mail.

He then drove her home – after he ordered her to pay him £50 for the return fare.  “It was disgusting and I was convinced he was going to kill me.”  “After what he’d just done to me, I couldn’t believe he had the nerve to charge me,” she said, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Iqbal first pleaded not guilty to two separate sex attacks – one on Lily, and another on a second woman at another time.  He later changed his plea to guilty.

“The next day police revealed the court had presented the evidence, and my attacker had changed his plea to guilty to two counts of sexual assault and one count of kidnap,” said Wright.

“I believe women should trust taxi drivers, and take a taxi rather than walking home alone at night,” says Wright.  “But they should book a registered taxi rather than waving one down in the street,” she said.  “You’re putting your safety in their hands. And I learnt my lesson the hard way.”

Duke University Muslim Call To Prayer: Who Gives A Damn?

This is an OK, Fine “op-ed.”

Duke University officials on Thursday reversed a decision to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer from the bell tower atop the Duke chapel.

(Trivia info:  the bell tower of Duke Chapel is modeled after the Bell Harry Tower of Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury, in Kent, England.)

The plan was to recite and broadcast a call to prayer from the chapel for about three minutes, once a week, each Friday.

Why did they reverse the decision?

Speaking to a group of reporters and TV camera, Duke’s vice president of public affairs and government relations offered little insight into the cancellation besides saying there were “security concerns.” Neither he nor the dean of the chapel used the word “threat,” and it appeared no law enforcement agencies aside from Duke campus police were called to investigate.

However, other sources claim there were threats of violence made against the school.

Meanwhile, CBS reported on January 21st that the Duke University chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity has been suspended as police investigate rape allegations stemming from a frat party earlier this month.

The alleged sexual assault took place in an off-campus house and now officials are working to determine what happened.

In an affidavit obtained by “CBS This Morning,” a woman told police she was served “hot chocolate” at the party.  After drinking it, the next thing she remembered was waking up the next day in a “t-shirt she didn’t recognize,” wearing “no underwear and no bra,” and her leggings were “torn and on the ground.”

So, the real question about whether or not Duke University broadcasts a three-minute prayer every Friday is this:

Who gives a damn?

Study: Nearly A Third Of College Males Would Rape If They Could Get Away With It

TYT Network

Nearly one in three college men admit they might rape a woman if they knew no one would find out and they wouldn’t face any consequences, according to a new study conducted by researchers at the University of North Dakota.

But, when the researchers actually used the word “rape” in their question, those numbers dropped much lower — suggesting that many college men don’t associate the act of forcing a woman to have sex with them with the crime of committing rape.
