Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro Reportedly Claims U.S. Behind Coup Attempt

The US is behind the attempted coup in Venezuela – that is the accusation President Nicolas Maduro has leveled amid widespread protests back home. And it’s none other than Vice-president Joe Biden who’s behind the entire operation, Maduro alleges.

The socialist head of state said that not only were the national and international right-wing planning actions to destabilize the government, but that Biden himself was meeting with other Latin American governments to arrange the assault.

“They have gone to talk with the governments of the continent to plan the overthrow of my government,” Maduro said Sunday during a ceremony marking the birth of Ezequiel Zamora, a key figure in Venezuela’s history.

“I accuse the vice president of the United States, Joe Biden, personally of having spoken with the presidents and prime ministers,” he added.

Maduro, whose government has faced a series of economic and violent destabilizations over the past years, which have intensified recently, went on to call for unity in the country and for strength in the armed forces against these attempts, according to Telesur.

Attempted Bombing At NAACP Building In Colorado

According to the LA Times, a homemade explosive blew up on Tuesday outside the Colorado Springs, Colorado, chapter of the NAACP. The FBI has called it a deliberate incident.

The chapter’s offices, as well as Mr. G’s Hair Design Studios barber shop located inside the building, sustained minor damage from the explosion. No deaths or injuries have been reported.

Witnesses reported hearing a “loud boom” around 10:45 a.m. local time. “There was smoke everywhere, the building on the side was burnt,” one onlooker told local television station KDVR. The Los Angeles Times reports an improvised bomb appears to have been positioned against the outside wall of the building on South El Paso Street.

According to the FBI, it was set right next to a gasoline can, which didn’t burst during the explosion.

Alex Jones Theorizes About Obama Assassination

Recently, conspiracy-theorist Republican Alex Jones, the host of InfoWars.com, speculated about the possibility of a President Obama assassination.

He explained that it could be part of a larger plot against the U.S. and a “false flag” used to blame Obama’s enemies.

As for Jones’ politics, Wikipedia states “In early 2000, Jones was one of seven Republican candidates for state representative in Texas House District 48, an open seat swing district based in Austin, Texas.” NYmag.com calls Jones “America’s Leading Conspiracy Theorist.”
