Geraldo Rivera Threatens To Knock Out Fellow Fox Host Eric Bolling

The Young Turks

In a fit of melodrama, pundit Geraldo Rivera appeared on Fox News’ show “The Five” on Monday and threatened to “knock out” fellow paid host Eric Bolling during an argument about Donald Trump’s comments about immigration, writes CNN.

Geraldo Rivera plays the paid liberal on the show.

The other four are generally right-wing conservatives, rounding out “The Five.”

Earlier, co-host Jesse Watters referred to President Barack Obama a “skinny community organizer.”

They then spoke about the killing of Kate Steinle in San Francisco by an illegal immigrant, and Rivera accused Trump of using her death as a platform to speak on illegal immigration.

“It is exploiting and sensationalizing,” Rivera said.

“From a guy who exploits and sensationalizes everything,” Bolling interjected.

“Are you talking to me?” Rivera asked, using his best Taxi Driver impersonation.  Rivera is known for his sensational news and talk shows.  “You’re lucky that you’re my friend. I’d knock you out right now…” he said.

Trump Calls CNN’s Anderson Cooper ‘Pathetic’ On Immigration Questions

CNN

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump became irritable when pressed on immigration by CNN host Anderson Cooper on Wednesday.

Trump did not appreciate Anderson Cooper’s line of questions surrounding the construction crew he hired to build his Trump Tower in Manhattan back in 1975.

The CNN host asked about a court case that Trump settled in 1999 surrounding 200 illegal Polish immigrants alleging they were paid less than minimum wage back for their work in 1975.

“I hired a contractor,” Trump replied about the Trump Tower construction crew. “Anderson, I hire a contractor. The contractor then hires the subcontractor. They have people. I don’t know — I don’t remember, that was so many years ago, 35 years ago they said we had some illegal immigrants.”

A report on Monday by the Washington Post claimed Trump has employed illegal immigrants on current hotel projects, which was also brought up by Cooper.

According to Business Insider, The Post’s Antonio Olivo talked to 15 of the workers, some of whom “acknowledged that they remain in the country illegally.”

Change.org Petition For NBC To Cut Ties With Donald Trump

Recently, Univision decided to drop Donald Trump’s Miss USA pageant from the network lineup.

Univision is the largest Spanish-language broadcaster.  They decided to not air the annual Miss USA pageant next month due to the presidential candidate’s recent comments on immigration.

In a statement recently, the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (NHLA) lauded Univision’s decision to sever ties with Trump and urged NBC to “follow Univision’s lead.”

Members of the coalition include business, media, and cultural advocacy groups like the National Council of La Raza, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Presente.org and the National Hispanic Media Coalition, according to CNN.

Close to 200,000 people have signed a three-day old Change.org petition that calls for NBC to cut ties with Trump by dropping the Miss USA Pageant, the Miss Universe Pageant, and The Apprentice franchise.

Citing actions taken against Phil Robertson by A&E for his anti-gay views, Petitioner Guillermo Castaneda Jr. urged NBC to side for “ethics, principles and values” by dropping Trump.

“A few days ago, one of your reality show stars by the name of Donald Trump decided to announce his candidacy for the largest public position in the United States, the presidency,” wrote Castaneda. “He called Latinos … rapists drug users and criminals,” writes Entertainment Weekly.

“I am not a rapist,” Castaneda continued. “I have never taken drugs, and the worst thing I have ever done is going fast on the freeway from time to time,” continued Castaneda Jr. “I am not worth $4.1 billion, but my people spend way more than that on your advertisers. We have a voice and we decide the future of this country.”

Donald Rumsfeld States Bush Was ‘Unrealistic’ About Democracy In Iraq

Secular Talk

Former Secetary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said in a recent interview with The Times of London that he disagreed with George W. Bush on one key aspect of the Iraq War.

During the Bush years, Rumsfeld had defended the administration and the decision to go into Iraq, but recently he said that he disagreed with Bush’s idea that it would be possible to bring democracy to the region.

“The idea that we could fashion a democracy in Iraq seemed to me unrealistic. I was concerned about it when I first heard those words,” Rumsfeld told the newspaper, reports Talking Points Memo.

It is unlikely that either Rumsfeld or former Vice President Richard “Dick” Cheney will be prosecuted by the Obama administration for their roles in the Iraq war, states Thom Hartmann writing for truth-out.org.

“And now 40 years after Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon, the precedent has been set that the standing president simply ignores the crimes of his predecessor,” he writes on truth-out.org.
