Mother Found Guilty Of Murder Of Son

Lacey Spears is accused of poisoning her 5-year-old son with salt. (Photo: Westchester county District Attorney)

Lacey Spears, a Kentucky woman whom authorities say force-fed her 5-year-old son salt through a stomach tube for the attention that a sickly child brought her, has been found guilty of murder in the child’s 2014 death at a hospital in New York state.

A White Plains jury handed down the second-degree murder verdict in 5-year-old Garnett-Paul Spears’ death Monday after three days of deliberations.

Spears will be sentenced in early April, and she can reportedly expect no sympathy from the district attorney.

Spears, 27, had blogged for years about her son’s constant health woes, and prosecutors said she killed the boy because she feared he would start telling people she was the one making him sick.

Video showed Spears twice taking the boy into a hospital bathroom with a connector tube and the boy suffering afterward.

“The motive is bizarre, the notion is scary, but it exists … She apparently craved the attention of her family, her friends, her co-workers and most particularly the medical profession,” Assistant District Attorney Patricia Murphy said in closing arguments Thursday.

Murphy called Spears’ actions “nothing short of torture.”

5-Year Old Saves Mom In Britain

Hero five-year-old Cameron Smith with mum Hayley

A five-year-old boy saved his mother’s  life after dialing an ambulance after she collapsed in their home and suffered an epileptic fit.

Hayley Hayward, 25, had no idea she suffered from the condition.  She woke up with the emergency services banging on her door and her face covered in blood, according to the U.K. Mirror.

It was later understood that she had fallen face first into her fireplace while watching TV with five-year-old Cameron and daughter Jayda and began having a seizure.

Cameron called an ambulance to his home in Gorton, England, before taking his three-year-old sister to another room so she did not witness the seizure.

Hayley was later diagnosed with epilepsy by doctors at the hospital.

“I woke up with a policeman banging on my door and he said my son had called an ambulance,” said Ms. Hayward.

“I said he wouldn’t have done that and he was looking at me as if he was in trouble – then I noticed my face was covered in blood.

“It’s just me and the kids at home so I’ve spoken to him about what to do in an emergency but I can’t believe how well he’s taken things on board.”

Texas Mother Pulls Gun On Student

A mother pulled a gun on a female student after the student got into a fight with her daughter, according to the Pasadena, Texas, Independent School District, according to click2houston.com.

PISD said the two students were fighting at a park across the street from Pasadena High School Tuesday when Viridiana Alvarez took out a gun.  Pasadena ISD police broke up the fight before anyone was seriously injured.

Hours after the fight, cellphone video and pictures surfaced of the altercation that appeared to show Alvarez pointing a gun at the teen’s head.  Alvarez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

“I don’t think a grown woman should be taking a gun where kids are,” said the victim’s grandmother. “I think it’s wrong.”

During her first appearance in court Alvarez, 33, told the judge that she wasn’t planning to shoot the girl with the pistol, only “scare her.”   Her family told KPRC2 that the gun was not loaded.

“Yeah but still,” said the victim’s grandmother.  “It’s not right to take (out) a gun.”

Man Beats Wife On Wedding Night After He Couldn’t Get Her Dress Off

After a delightful ceremony in St. Mary’s Church in the village of West Rainton in County Durham, England, the reception for Amy Dawson and her new husband, her long-term partner and father of her child, Gavin Golightly, in nearby Beamish Hall was full of love and laughter.

Then, at 12:55 a.m. the following morning, the newlyweds decided to retire to bed and Dawson asked Golightly to help take off her wedding dress.

Instead, he attacked her and she thought she was going to die.

“The defendant (Golightly) then tried to undo Ms. Dawson’s dress. She received a crochet (to undo the dress with), but the defendant then refused to undo his new wife’s dress,” prosecutor Sarah Traynor told Peterlee Magistrates Court, the Sunderland Echo reported.

“The defendant then jumped up from his chair, approached Ms. Dawson and pushed her over.

“He then sat on top of her and started punching her with clenched fists. He then got up and left the room. It appears that the defendant then came back to the room.”

Dawson received a cut above her left eye and bruises to her face and chest.

“When I first met Gavin, he was lovely, I couldn’t fault him,” Dawson told the Sunderland Echo.  “He was caring and loving, and when we found we were having a baby, we were delighted…I fell pregnant after eight months, but almost straightaway, Gavin became controlling and manipulative. It was like walking on eggshells.

“When he lashed out at me on my wedding night, I thought I was going to die. I was terrified. He looked like he was going to kill me.”

Golightly said his drinks must have been spiked before the assault and he could not remember the incident. However, Golightly, a tattoo artist, pleaded guilty to a single count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He was given a two-year community order, and a restraining order stopping him from contacting Dawson directly or indirectly was imposed. He was also ordered to pay Dawson compensation.

Dawson, an accounting student, has filed for divorce.

Mother And Daughter Found Hanged In Massachusetts

Ariana Rosa, 29, and her daughter Marley Soares, 9, were found dead on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, in their home on Morgan Street in the Montello section of Brockton.

A Massachusetts woman and her 9-year-old daughter were found hanged Friday in the basement of their home by police officers who later discovered what authorities called “written information” that’s being reviewed to see it if sheds light on what happened.

The bodies of Ariana Rosa-Soares, 32, and her daughter, Marley Soares, were found shortly before 10 a.m. in their home in Brockton, Massachusetts about 25 miles south of Boston, after a concerned family friend called police asking for assistance at the house, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said.

Cruz didn’t disclose the contents of the written information found at the scene and said it was too early to say whether the deaths were murders or a murder-suicide. He said the girl’s father was interviewed by state police.

A homicide investigation is under way, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, but officials had not confirmed by Friday evening how the mother and daughter died.

Rosa-Soares recently divorced Marley’s father, Octavio Soares, according to friends and family members. The couple shared custody and Rosa-Soares worked two jobs – as a certified nursing assistant and a personal care assistant – “just to maintain food in the house,” said a friend of the family.

Student Sues Her Divorced Parents For Tuition, Wins

gavel-promo-140.jpg

On Monday, a Superior Court judge in Camden, NJ ordered the parents of 21-year-old Temple University student Caitlyn Ricci to pay $906 of her tuition from Gloucester County College (now known as Rowan College at Gloucester County). She has been in a legal battle with her parents, Maura McGarvey and Michael Ricci, for more than a year.

The decision follows a ruling from this fall that bound her parents to pay $16,000 toward her tuition at Temple. The two have appealed that ruling.

Ricci sued her parents last spring, and reports say the woman has not seen her parents outside of court appearances in about two years. Her grandparents are paying her legal fees

Ricci’s legal victory has a legal precedent in Newburgh v. Arrigo, 88 N.J. 529 (1982). In that case, a judge ruled that divorced parents were legally responsible for paying for their children’s higher education.

In November, the parents told Chris J. Brown, a New Jersey assemblyman working to create legislation blocking adult children from suing their parents for tuition, that while they are divorced, they have jointly made decisions about raising their daughter.

Strange: A Mother Has Hundreds Of Orgasms Per Day

Cara Anaya, a mother of one who lives with her husband, Tony Carlisi, 34, and son Merrick, 10, suffers from persistent genital arousal disorder.  This means that on a bad day she can suffer anything up to 180 orgasms in two hours.

Anaya told Barcroft Media: “When you are around children you feel like a pervert because you have all these really strong feelings rushing through your body at the same time.”

“So imagine you can’t help out in class or go on school trips because the kids don’t understand, the parents don’t understand,” she said.

Anaya said, “It has devastated my involvement in my son’s life because I feel too dirty to be a part of it. We want him to be a normal kid but at the same time he can’t have friends around because mom has this condition.”
