Senator Ted Cruz On Late Night With Seth Meyers

Late Night With Seth Meyers

Senator Ted Cruz went on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday, where Meyers and Cruz discussed Cruz’s possible presidential run.  They also discussed a scare he gave to a little girl during a speech when he said “the world’s on fire.” They also discussed climate change/global warming, where Meyers and Cruz disagreed.

Born in Canada to a Cuban father, Cruz does not seem to fear lawsuits over his right to be president.

In the past, “birther” lawsuits challenged Barack Obama’s right to be President, claiming that he was not a natural-born citizen.  He was born in Hawaii to an American mother and Kenyan father.

Sheriff Richard Mack, who now heads the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association said in a Blog Talk Radio interview that he believes Cruz is ineligible for the presidency. Mack is known as a prominent “birther.”

Office Of U.S. Rep. For Nebraska Gets ‘Glitter Bombed’

“Jeffrey Lane ‘Jeff’ Fortenberry, (born December 27, 1960) is the U.S. Representative for Nebraska’s 1st congressional district, serving since 2005. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district is based in Lincoln and includes most of the eastern third of the state outside the immediate Omaha area,” according to Wikipedia.

Aides to Rep. Fortenberry were hit Wednesday by a “glitter bomb” sent to his Lincoln office, according to Omaha.com.

Sources claimed the congressman avoided being showered with the unwanted sparkling decorations, because he was a thousand miles away at the time on Capitol Hill.

A glitter bomb is a prank device designed to throw out a cloud of tiny sparkles, which get into clothes, computer keyboards and everywhere else.

The prank appeared to be motivated by Fortenberry’s anti-abortion positions, said spokeswoman Jennifer Allen.

She said a note included with the glitter read: “Congrats, you’ve earned this for trying to deny women their right to choice…”

Study Shows Politicians Ignore Latinos

According to CNN, Latinos are the fastest growing minority, making up 16% of the nation’s population. In 2012, 71% voted for Barack Obama and 27% voted for Mitt Romney. One might think that all politicians would pay attention to this fast-growing minority group.

Not true, according to Christian Grose, a political scientist at the University of Southern California, and graduate student Matthew Mendez sent emails to 1,871 legislators in 14 states with large Latino populations.

They sent e-mails asking the politicians what kind of documentation they needed to vote. They randomly assigned legislators to get the emails, but some emails came from a “white-sounding” name, and others came from a “latino-sounding” name.
