Last month, at his announcement that he would run for President, Trump suggested many Mexicans in the U.S. are “rapists” and “criminals.”

As a result of his controversial remarks, bosses at networks NBC, Univision and Televisa decided to dump coverage of his Miss USA pageant, which aired to low ratings over the weekend.

On Thursday, Spanish-language network Univision held its annual Premios Juventud Awards, and Cuban-American star Pitbull received the first prize of the night for Favorite Urban Artist, writes kerngoldenempire.com.

During his acceptance speech, Pitbull took a moment to call out Trump for his remarks, prefacing his own comments by admitting that he’s stayed at Trump’s hotels and used his helicopters.

He said, “I am not political. I am a musician. But more than anything, I am Latino.”

The Miss USA pageant ended up airing on July 12th on ReelzChannel, which is available on satellite providers DirecTV, Dish Network, and AT&T U-verse channel 799, according to NOLA.com.

“A racist teacher in Texas wants to return to segregation but claims through a hashtag that she is not racist in viral Facebook rant on McKinney,” writes Majority Report.

A fourth grade teacher at Bennett Elementary School in Wolfforth, Texas, has been ‘relieved of her duties’ by the Frenship Independent School District after posting her opinions about the McKinney pool party incident online, according to kcbd.com.

Karen Fitzgibbons shared an article to her profile stating she was “ANGRY” that police corporal Eric Casebolt resigned.

In the post, she made several references to “the blacks” as being the cause for problems and “racial tension,” writes kcbd.com.

“This makes me ANGRY!” wrote Fitzgibbons in her racist rant Wednesday about Cpl. Eric Casebolt of McKinney, Texas, according to the New York Daily News.

“This officer should not have to resign. I’m going to just go ahead and say it…the blacks are the ones causing the problems and this ‘racial tension.’ I guess that’s what happens when you flunk out of school and have no education,” she wrote, as reported by KCBD.

Fitzgibbons went on: “I’m almost to the point of wanting them all segregated on one side of town so they can hurt each other and leave the innocent people alone. Maybe the 50s and 60s were really on to something,” writes the New York Daily News.

Who is Arthur Laffer?

Wikipedia:  “Arthur Betz Laffer (/ˈlæfər/;[1] born August 14, 1940) is an American economist who first gained prominence during the Reagan administration as a member of Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board (1981–89). Laffer is best known for the Laffer curve, an illustration of the theory that there exists some tax rate between 0% and 100% that will result in maximum tax revenue for governments.”

What is the “marginal tax rate?”

The marginal tax rate is the tax rate above a certain dollar amount earned.  For example if there is a marginal tax rate of 90% at 4 million dollars per year, that means that every dollar starting at 4 million dollars would be taxed at 90%.   So, if you made 5 million dollars, only 1 million would be taxed at 90%.  Everything below 4 million is taxed at a different amount.

Wikipedia:  “Thus, the marginal tax rate is the tax percentage on the last dollar earned. In the United States in 2013, for example, the highest marginal tax rate was 39.6%, applying to earnings over $400,000. Earnings under $400,000 that year had a lower tax rate of 33% or less.”

New Questionable TV Show ‘The Briefcase’

A new CBS reality TV show puts families in a moral quandary regarding whether to help themselves or another family with the money contents of a briefcase.

But is the show “poor shaming?” Does the show have a delusional relationship to poverty?

Bernie Sanders Discusses Free College Education

High School is free. Could college also be free? Is college free in some European countries? How would you pay for it?

Recently, Vermont Senator and presidential contender Bernie Sanders talked to CNN about free, universal college education and how he would fund it.

What is the Wall Street Sales Tax?

In the video, they say the word “troglodytic.”  What does troglodytic mean?

Troglodytic means of, about, or relating to a troglodyte.   A troglodyte was a prehistoric cave-dweller, or “a person of degraded, primitive, or brutal character,” according to dictionary.com.

New Reddit Anti-Bullying Policy

Reddit is updating its policies on harassment and bullying. They will be taking a more active role to protect individuals while hoping to maintain their hands-free approach to moderation and community building, writes the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Site administrators wrote on Friday that they are changing their practices “to prohibit attacks and harassment of individuals through Reddit…”

They defined harassment as: “Systematic and/or continued actions to torment or demean someone in a way that would make a reasonable person (1) conclude that Reddit is not a safe platform to express their ideas or participate in the conversation, or (2) fear for their safety or the safety of those around them.”

Administrators praised the social media network’s growth since its launch 10 years ago and also addressed a growth in harassment directed at individuals, writs the CBC.

They addressed specifically the posting of people’s private information, or links to people’s private information, without their consent (known as doxing).
