Sanders ‘Disappointed’ That Ed Show Will Be Canceled

PlanetEarth TrimTab

Recently, MSNBC decided to cancel Ed Schultz’s “The Ed Show.” He will reportedly be replaced with a more “moderate” anchor – Meet The Press’ Chuck Todd. Schultz is known for giving more liberal politicians a platform to speak.

Schultz has talked with left-wing Senator Bernie Sanders “many times” on his show, writes MediaITE.

How does Sanders feel about MSNBC getting rid of The Ed Show?

Politico reports that Senator Sanders said Thursday that he is “disappointed” in Comcast’s decision to remove Ed Schultz from its lineup.

This seemed to confirm earlier reports that Schultz’s “Ed Show” was one of several MSNBC programs to be canceled.

“We live in a time when much of the corporate media regards politics as a baseball game or a soap opera,” the Democratic presidential hopeful said in a statement. “Ed Schultz has treated the American people with respect by focusing on the most important issues impacting their lives,” Sanders said, according to Politico.

Sanders continued: “He has talked about income and wealth inequality, high unemployment, low wages, our disastrous trade policies and racism in America.

“I am very disappointed that Comcast chose to remove Ed Schultz from its lineup. We need more people who talk about the real issues facing our country, not fewer,” Sanders continued. “At a time when a handful of large, multinational corporations own our major media outlets, I hope they will allow voices to be heard from those who dissent from the corporate agenda.”

Above, Schultz speaks with Sanders soon after he declared he would be running for President.

First Minister Of Scotland On Daily Show

Comedy Central

On Monday, June 8th, the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon discussed the Scottish National Party’s election victories and reasons for wanting independence from the U.K.

Wikipedia states:

“Nicola Ferguson Sturgeon (born 19 July 1970) is the fifth and current First Minister of Scotland and the Leader of the Scottish National Party, in office since 2014. She is the first woman to hold either position. Sturgeon represents Glasgow Southside as its MSP.” (Member of the Scottish Parliament – ed.).

“A law graduate of the University of Glasgow, Sturgeon worked as a solicitor in Glasgow. She was first elected to the Scottish Parliament in 1999, and served successively as the SNP’s shadow minister for education, health and justice. In 2004, she announced that she would stand as a candidate for the leadership of the SNP following the resignation of John Swinney. However, she later withdrew from the contest in favour of Alex Salmond, standing instead as depute (deputy) leader on a joint ticket with Salmond.”

Right-Wing Talk Show Host: Obama May Arm U.S. Gangs For Race War

RWW blog

Does this seem a little far-fetched to you?

Recently, the right-wing publication WND published an article titled “Savage: Obama may arm U.S. gangs for race war.”

World Net Daily is a right-wing news publication and Michael Savage is a right-wing radio talk show host.

Warning of a coming “race war,” Savage appeared as a guest on Alex Jones Infowars program Monday, and said President Obama would “deputize and arm gang members such as the ‘Crips and the Bloods’ to keep order in American streets,” writes World Net Daily.  Do his comments seem over-the-top?

“Remember my last book, ‘Stop the Coming Civil War’? Guess what. It started,” said Savage.

“Has there been a civil war? Yeah, it’s a slow-burning civil war. What do you think we are looking at here? It’s a race war. These are their shock troops, they don’t have the brown shirts yet, they don’t have the armbands, but soon Obama could deputize them. Isn’t that a natural army for him, Alex? Take the Crips and the Bloods, give them a green uniform and give them a weapon and they’ll keep order in the streets. Won’t they?”

WND claims that Savage’s ideas are not unlike that sparked by critics of then-candidate Obama’s plan, announced at a 2008 appearance in Colorado Springs, to create a “civilian national security force.”

“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we set,” Obama said at the time. “We’ve got have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Savage told Jones that Obama has “the gangs on the streets on his side, he’s got them awakened, he’s got them armed – they’re armed to the teeth with illegal weapons.

“You’re going to see more race war right up until the Labor Day of 2016 for an obvious reason,” he said, referring to the presidential election.

Agreeing with Jones that Obama’s “agenda is succeeding,” Savage warned: “The guillotines are ready, the guillotines are ready and they are greasing the blades. How much more successful can they be? Internment camps? I mean, what is next with this group of maniacs?”

Savage said Americans “can’t count on the military to protect them from Obama because his administration has purged military leaders who were competent to do so,” writes WND.

“One general after the other was purged like Stalin purged them, only instead of shooting them first they smeared the generals,” he said.

“I don’t think it’s going to come down to the camps, the internment and the martial law,” Savage said, mercifully. “…I think it would upset the economy and the world.”

Is Michael Savage not kind and understanding?

He claimed that Obama won’t declare martial law or force people into internment camps “just yet” because “they’re going to take the street garbage and they’re going to take the illegal immigrants and they’re going to warp the entire election.”

Nice of Savage to refer to people as “street garbage.”

“He’s the smoothest conman America’s ever seen in the White House…He’s performing along the lines of any other ‘petty dictator,’” Savage said. “He is Al Sharpton with a ‘smoother act.’”

Are these statements by Michael Savage questionable?

Actress Loses Custody Battle, Must Visit Kids In France

Tough time: The actress opened up about her legal battle to keep her children in the US. She has four days before she has to send them back to France, where they live with her ex-husband

Actress Kelly Rutherford has taken a battle for her two children to the White House.

A petition has been filed with whitehouse.gov seeking a federal order to allow her young children to move back to the US.  A judge in France previously ordered that the children live in France with her husband.

“This is a political issue now,” Rutherford told sources, adding that her children’s “constitutional rights should have been put before our parental rights,” meaning that as American citizens, her kids should not have been deported.

Best-known to television audiences as Lily van der Woodsen on the hit show Gossip Girl, Kelly played the matriarch in New York for 6 seasons culminating in December of 2012.

She is also known for her former roles in television shows Melrose Place, Homefront, and E-Ring.

Rutherford is a devoted single mom to her kids and an advocate of women’s and children’s charities including StepUp Women’s Network, Healthy Child Healthy World, and she is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Free Arts.

Rutherford lost a bid to keep her children in the U.S. after a judge refused to overturn a previous court ruling that they should live with their father in France.

She has spent two years flying back and forth from France to see her children, who live with her ex-husband Daniel Giersch.

German-born Giersch had his O1 visa – granted to individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement – revoked two years ago. The State Department will not comment on the reason for this, only to say it is classified.  This prompted a court to give him custody of the children in France in 2012 as he cannot legally enter the U.S. He will not comment on the case.  He later took the kids to Monaco, where they have citizenship.

In 2012, a California judge ordered that the children live with Giersch in France after his work visa was revoked, preventing him from living in the US. Rutherford appealed but lost.

Cavaliers’ Iman Shumpert Claims FOX Series Stole His Character – And Girlfriend Teyana Taylor’s

The FOX show “Empire” has shaken up prime-time television on Wednesday nights, says Cleveland.com.

It’s a successful musical drama television series centered on family members competing at all lengths to gain control of Empire Enterprises, a family-owned record label company.

“Empire” provides a genuine glimpse into what it’s like behind the scenes of the music and entertainment industry.

But according to Cleveland.com, maybe the characters are almost too real.

Cleveland.com asked Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert if he checks out the show and if he thought that he bears a striking resemblance to the character Hakeem (played by Brysherer Gray), the rap artist.  Hakeem is the youngest son of the CEO of Empire.

Hakeem has the mannerisms, the look, and the sound of Shumpert, according to Clevelan.com. He even has a similar high-top fade haircut.

Shumpert told Northeast Ohio Media Group he doesn’t watch the show.

What he would reveal next caught Cleveland.com completely off guard.

In the series, Hakeem has a girlfriend named “Tiana” (played by Seraya McNeill), who’s an R&B singer and dancer signed to the record company.

Ironically, the fictional character “Tiana” has a strangely similar persona to Teyana Taylor, a real-life R&B singer, dancer and actress.

Aside from having the same name and likeness as Taylor, the fictional character, Tiana, has an identical hairstyle.  Teyana Taylor is widely known for her signature appearance.   It’s hard not to see the similarities.

But there’s more.

Shumpert is dating Teyana Taylor, and Hakeem is dating Tiana in the show. They’re a real-life couple and believe “Empire” is hijacking their character without permission or compensation.

“They’re using my girl’s character, her style, her look and she’s not getting anything for it,” Shumpert said. “They didn’t even change her name. They could have at least let my girl audition for the part instead of stealing her character completely.

“And come on man, they’re really using a guy with a flat top like me. Come on. That’s ridiculous,” says Shumpert.

“They never called us. We were blindsided. We found out by our family and fans when the show aired.”

Jesse Ventura On Chris Kyle: ‘Do You Think The Nazis Have Heroes?’

Former pro wrestler and Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura continues his Shock and Awe attack on deceased “American Sniper” Chris Kyle.  On Fox News radio, he said it does not mean much to describe Kyle as a “hero” because the Nazis had heroes too.

“A hero should have honor,” Ventura told radio host Alan Colmes in an interview. “A hero is not how many people you’ve killed.”  Ventura said that Kyle is “obviously a great sniper” and “a great shot. He obviously did his job correctly.”

Then, Ventura asked Colmes: “Do you think the Nazis have heroes?”

Colmes replied that “the Nazis were fighting for a cause we can’t condone.”

Ventura responded by asking Colmes: “If a Nazi soldier killed a hundred people that had lived” in a Nazi-occupied country in World War II, would that soldier “be classified a hero in Germany?”

Colmes asked if Ventura was “comparing what the Nazi mission was versus what our mission is in war as a country.”

“Well, what I’m stating is we invaded Iraq, we were not asked in,” Ventura replied. “We invaded a country, we overthrew its government, and then we killed people that lived there.”

“Are we analogous to the Nazis?” Colmes asked.

“Well, and the Communists, yeah,” Ventura replied.

Ventura states he was a Navy SEAL.  He was part of the Navy’s UDT, or Underwater Demolition Team, which later merged with the SEALs in the 1980s.

Last year, Ventura won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit against Kyle’s estate.

He sued for defamation, alleging that Kyle – the hero of the movie “American Sniper” – falsely claimed in part of his book to have punched out a man, later identified as Ventura, in a California bar in 2006 after Ventura allegedly said the SEALs “deserve to lose a few” in Iraq.

Ventura said last week that he will not see the film, in part because he does not regard Kyle as a hero.  “A hero must be honorable, must have honor. And you can’t have honor if you’re a liar. There is no honor in lying,” Ventura said.

Ventura also dismissed the movie as propaganda because it conveys the false idea that Iraq had something to do with the 9/11 attacks. “It’s as authentic as ‘Dirty Harry,'” he said — a reference to the fictional movie series starring the director of American Sniper, Clint Eastwood.
